Scatter plot:
This is a graph that plots point such as x verse those of y.
The graph below shows grip strength (x) verse arm strength (y).
Positive correlation:
This is usually associated with graphs as well. It refers to the x and y data having a positive slop. Meaning, as x increases in size, so does y.
Ex. Refer to graph above.
Negative correlation:
Opposite of positive correlation. As x increases in size, y decreases.
Ex. Refer to graph above but instead have the dots take on a negative slope.
Relatively no correlation:
Meaning that as x increases or decreases, y barely changes value. FYI, I am not positive but I am pretty sure that you can't as y increases x barely changes because that would be the best kind of positive correlation.
Ex. Refer to graph but have the scatter plot just go left to right with very little variation in slope.
Vertex:
The common point where two line segments or two rays meet.
