lol no nasty it isn't.
an archetype is a commonality found acorss a broad sprectrum of literature.
An example would be the "happily ever after" endings to all the disney movies.
or how in action movies all the bullets seem to miss the main character. he always is magically unharmed.
in a nut shell- its the quality of something that makes it "corny" because its used so much.
more often today writers of both books and movies are trying to create new ones to have an orginal idea.
