Your workout should consume of; stretching(mandatory), warmup(usually a mile run or something of similar calibur), weight lifting(push it to the limit), cardio(main workout, bicycle, treadmill, urging(rowing), stairs, etc.), weight lifting(cool down a bit, not as hard as before), cool down run(another 1/2 mile or so). Following this about 3 times a week at your local YMCA, Gold's Gym, 24 Hour Fitness or local place will get you in shape pretty fast. |
I am going to recommend to most individuals entering High School to stay away from Whey Protein, Creatine, or any kind of supplemants. Most incoming freshman are 13-14 years old and are still developing quite a bit. Protein is used to help rebuild your muscles and 13-14 year olds for the most part shouldn't be doing workouts that would require extra protein to gain weight. Focus on using your body as weight, meaning, pull ups, push ups, leg raises.
Getting a gym membership this young can and in the most part causes more harm than good. I see these kids in the gym all the time doing more weight than they can handle and very rarely have good form. Doing movements with heavy weight in the wrong way can cause serious injuries that can last the rest of your life. Unless you know what you are doing or someone else who knows what they're doing stay away from doing free weights.
