I'm actually used to not sleeping. Almost every summer I go to visit family in Iran. I have to take one 8 hour flight from Toronto to Amsterdam, then a 5 hour flight from Amsterdam to Tehran, and then an hour flight from Tehran to Shiraz...
Basically, if you include the waiting we do in the air ports before going to connecting flights, and the fact that I don't sleep there, it's basically 24 hours without sleep.
Yes it sucks.
