Here's the general rule:
For any two equations y=mx+b
They are parallel if "m" is the same (they have the same slope)
There are perpendicular if the "m" is the opposite reciprocal. For example:
y=3x+2
Equations with lines perpendicular could be:
y= -1/3x+3
y= -1/3x+98
y= -1/3x+0
y= -1/3x+8
y= -1/3x+45
As long as you get the opposite of the slope, and the reciprocal. |
