The gradient of a line (also known as slope...I will probably slip up and use the term "slope" in this post, because it is what I was taught it as.) is simply a way to describe lines.
The simplest way to describe it would be the (change in) y/ (change in) x
For the example you have shown above, the formula to find the slope would be (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) |
