i need help with this word problem that i'm having trouble with. i not really good with word problems lol.



In an income of worker, one out of three people said they make less than $30,000 per year, one out of four people said they make between $30,000 and $50,000 per year, one out of five people said they make between $50,000 and 100,000 per year, the rest said they make over $100,000 per year. What fraction of the people said they make more than $100,000 per year?

Find a common denominator (hint: multiplying the denominators always finds a common factor- not always the least common denominator but it works with any common factor) for 1/3, 1/4, and 1/5. Add those 3 figures together and subtract from 1 to get the fraction of people who make more than $100,000 per year.

Or if you don't have to show work just use a calculator 1-(1/3)-(1/4)-(1/5) and convert the answer to a fraction.

I post my physics II hw, u post answers? lol My AP physics II teacher is so horrible (yet she was a great Physics I teacher)... she says something then says oh wait never mind that's wrong or she has to go next door to ask the IB Physics II teacher (I had him 2nd half for Physics I and he explained things much better). I'm beginning to come up with a theory that many AP teachers aren't college teachers because they don't really know college level material.

How about adding all the given fractions and then subtracting the sum from 1.00?

Doing so and we get the decimal number 0.22

As you know, 0.22 indicates that 22% of people make over $100,000 in one year.

We also know that 0.22 is 13/60 as a fraction.

There is the fraction.
