Pretty simple concept.

Just post everything you have written.

Here's a song I wrote on a three hour bus ride when I was iPod-less

Poemmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Far From Hope

She looks up at you
A four year old, going on five
Smiling contentedly
Breathing to the rhythm of your heart
Knowing not of what lays inside her.

You tried to tell her
God knows you tried
Though guiltily, selfishly
You held every word back.

Back then you thought
All you had to say was,
“Honey, there’s something in your body.”
“And it’s messing you up.”
Pity it wasn’t that simple.

Now the fiend is deep down under
Slowly killing its way through
And because of you and your childish intentions
You and your adolescent needs
It’ll one day destroy her
Let her be no more.

Will you have these eight years to cherish?
Or will you leave her alone to perish?
Lest when she starts to look like the beast beneath
When the toll of pain inflicts itself upon her
Will you leave her alone to perish?

Yet

Hope
Dangles on a string
As does everything (good)
So you turn to face the fire
But the truth’s no liar
And with each condescending smirk
Your presence still’d lurk
Thus go alone and brawl the flames
He would never take the blame.

Presently you ponder the ages of your past
The golden sun
The forevermore laughter
You think about her face, and

Suddenly it wasn’t worth it.

Wow. That is beautiful.

The Saturday Inferno

When you turn that corner,
All control leaving your grasp,
Everything you love being destroyed slowly.
Your diminishing hope is laughing in your face.
Since when does fate burn a hole in your heart?
Since when does luck abandon you completely?
You hope to wake up from this awful nightmare,
You can’t open your eyes,
But you can’t keep them shut.
Windows shattered one by one,
You start to question everything.
What did you do to deserve this terrible punishment?
Your heart is pounding out of your chest,
Your soul is screaming for help.
Your mind is on fire.
You hope they can stop all of this,
Because this Saturday inferno is tearing you apart.
Survival is a miracle,
Luck is nonexistent,
Destiny is carrying you in its back.

Down by the River

I found my way back here
Struggling on and on
All night I just wait for you
But no response my dear
All my hope is gone
Another sleepless night I struggle through
I dont like it here
I wanna go

South of the River
Down by the bend
Where I lay my tears

Under the Bridge
My eyes start to swell
If you ask me how I'm doing
I'll tell you it's going well
This cold night makes me shiver

When you look at me
How do you feel
Your in a life thats so surreal
Throw the rocks at my image
Watch it ripple away
My reflection is gone
But my pain is here to stay

Lookin Down by the River
Knowing I can never win
I take a breath
Then I jump in
It's cleaning me now
Pulling me down
Then you throw out your hand
And you're pullin me out

Down by the River
Where our eyes met
That was the first night
That I ever slept
You kept me safe
When I felt like letting go

This feeling makes me shiver
When I go

I close my eyes and begin to think about life and it's complications

The struggles within and the war we rage is a part of our situation

But what we feel and what we see make this place seem home to me

the colder it gets the harder we fall all makes us believe

That life knows no boundaries, carries on no rule

weakens a stronger man, and smartens the fool

Do you know what your life is about because I'm pretty sure I do

Live and Enjoy Anger and Annoy, untill it's through.

Walking down the street with a rhytym in your step

Reminesce of sunrise and all the nights you've wept

Your smile still shines brigther then anytime before

Thats only cuz you know what youre living for

Live life like theres no tomorrow

Love without your sorrow

Don't hold back, say what you wanna say

My lungs have been on fire for you,
On fire since the very beginning.
My soul becomes more golden by you,
Encased in this box I call my home.
There is a language unspoken,
There is a language undiscovered,
And every day it screams.
The ocean grew with every step,
While this river discovered flames.
