A quiet room with a desk and pencil. Our English teacher won't let us write graded essays at home.

I feel the same way even if I am trying to write short stories or other small works of literature, because I can't concentrate when there is noise around me. Same when I read.

i work only last minute otherwise if i work on it a week or 2 before i cant do it because i feel like i am better off playing at the moment or something. I usually just do it around 9pmish cause i suddenly realize i havent started it.so i sign on aim start writing the essay and get some help from my friends and ill be done with it within an hour. Music helps me speed my typing up. My fastest essay was probably 4page essay in 1hr and half.

Most of all, I need to be comfortable clothing wise. I need to be clean, I need to be away from people, generally. Music is a negative for me here because I'll tend to write down stuff inspired from the song, and take it's mood. If I'm writing a paper while listening to hair metal, my paper's gonna have a happy feel. If I'm listening to Harder Rock, it's gonna have a darker side to it. Not dark as in death but just pessimistic.
