At my school we have this too. It damn near impossible to get 0%. I got 1 percent on a paper, because four words in a row on mine matched somebodies college science criteria list.

TurnitIn.com is used by almost all major universities as well.
You don't get passed it; so it's best (as always) to write your own work. It'll get you kicked out of college otherwise.

About 20 percent is the decent size for research papers because of citations, it also detects website urls etc... I would just try to write your own stuff and if it's similar so be it and argue it out. But it's a pretty in depth search engine. A couple thousand schools from across the coutnry including universities have their students upload their papers so it's a comprehensive cross-checking system. websites like smartessays and places with free essays are also included on the search.

What if you DID write it on your own, but somehow it matches a sentence written by another website's information.. do you get to argue it out and have your say or do you just get kicked out like that..?

I'm pretty sure they would understand that it is possible for one of your sentences to match the trillions of sentences on the web.

Maybe we should get a subscription or w/e of this thing for SHW. We can all use it to run our papers through so that we can see the results of the plagiarism-checker to see if we would be OK when we turn it in to our teachers. |

Except how much does it cost? Cause I don't know if Z would be to keen on doing that if a subscription cost a lot. |

Yeah maybe but if this site blows up like Z and all of us expect it to, we are going to have a lot more than 150 "students". |
