Does anyone else have this in their english class? Where you have to read a set amount of pages from novels (or other books) by the end of the year.

Everyone in my class has to have finished 2,000 pages by the end of the year. A lot of people hate it but I don't mind because I generally like reading (I reached 3000 pages before Christmas).

Also, there's this national thing going on here where on every Tuesday and Thursday, everyone has to read for like 20 minutes.

We have a book number. We have to read 5 books by then end of the year, which really is not a lot.

I did the year before last. With like 100 pages per week. Not much, but more then I was willing to do because I was a slacker.
