| So I was writing an English paper and I realized... :

...what I was writing would actually be an extremely good post explaning to H2F what I'm going through right now. Even though it probably doesn't seem like that much, it feels good to let it out.
By the way, the prompt for the paper was "Goals of 2008". Quote:
Some of my goals and dreams for 2008 are to improve my guitar playing skills, increase my music collection, make more plans after school with friends instead of sitting at home, and spend more time with my family.
I have been playing guitar since December 2007. My parents got me an acoustic guitar for Hanukkah after I told them I wanted to learn how to play a few months earlier. I have been taking lessons for nearly the amount of time I’ve been playing from a college student who is very experienced. When I first got my guitar I wanted fast results, I wanted to be able to play very well as soon as possible. I went a through a couple months of practices with minimal practice by myself during the week, but I soon realized that If I was going to make any progress I need to practice all the time. Another factor that made me really want to start practicing extensively was that one of my friends who plays bass guitar, can play my own guitar better than I can! So I made one of my major goals in 2008 to drastically up my practice time.
My second goal this year is to start buying more CDs. In the past I would just download everything I wanted, but I recently discovered that I was drawn to the opportunity to buy a CD every time I got the chance. It’s not because I feel guilty about downloading music, but there is something intrinsic about getting a CD in a CD case. It feels more complete and full when I listen to it and it makes me proud to look up at my bookshelf and see another CD added to my collection. One thing that really made me start buying more CDs is that out of almost 3,000 songs on my computer, I only have around six CDs. Yeah, not very good.
Another thing that I want to improve upon is making plans with my friends. I went through 5th, 6th, and 7th grade only hanging out with whoever my friends were at the time whenever one of them invited. I would never really go out of my way to see my friends after school. It’s not because I didn’t want to see them, I think it’s mostly because whenever I did call someone to make a plan, they were either already out with someone, or not at home. This happened to me many, many times and eventually I just didn’t want to go through the frustration of being denied again. So I usually kept to myself after school. This didn’t really start to bother me until about 8th grade when my friends got really important to me. After I started planning out stuff more often, I started to realize that organizing a get together wasn’t really that hard after all. I still don’t get out of the house as much as I would like however. Which is why I made hanging out with my buds a priority for 2008.
My last and maybe most important goal for this year is to spend more time with my family. I think that it will be difficult to do while I’m already practicing my guitar, buying CDs, and out with my friends, but I also think it is urgent. In recent months and years my relationship with my family, but my dad most of all, hasn’t been going very well. We get into many arguments, and we don’t see I to eye on a lot of things. I know why this has been happening, and it also has to do with the rest of my goals I have planned out: I don’t manage my time very well. I spend hours on end on my Xbox or my computer, and I think that really gets to him. But I really don’t know what to do after that because it’s gotten so bad that whenever we talk, it’s like we don’t even know each other anymore. We start to talk and it usually ends up with me getting fed up with him talking about how I never come down to talk to him and how I’m oblivious and ignorant of what happens in our family. I really try to start a conversation with him, but it’s awkward because we both know we are just talking because we know we should be, not because we want to. I don’t know how I’m supposed to force myself into conversation so I just don’t talk, and then he gets mad again. But I’m determined to better my time management and improve my relationship with my dad.

Good read man. Can't say I have any of those problems or goals (except for maybe the CD one, but that's not going to change ). Hopefully you get a good grade.
