It varies from teacher to teacher. However theres one teacher that occasionally monitors the hallway that will confiscate headphones, ipods, and hats regardless if they are being worn/listened to.

I don't understand why hats aren't allowed. It seems like an old traditional household rule, like "no elbows on the dinner table" or some shit like that.

A kid at my school got the answers to his final exam in science, recorded himself, formated it to .mp3, and listend to it during class.

so no, no Ipods allowed, but even my teachers wear hats.

If you have a long sleeve you feed the headphone through it to about your hand and put the end of the sleeve over your hand and lean on your hand, then you can listen to your iPod.
