| Most important thing in Trig: :

Set your calculator to DEGREES! Failing to do this is the WORST possible way you could possibly fail your Geometry/trig final. By default, TI-83s,83 Pluses, and TI-84s are set to radians. Therefore, when you enter:
tan45=
You will NOT get "1". You will get the answer in radians, not degrees.
To change it, go to "Mode", scroll down, and select "Degrees" instead of radians.
That is all.

The worst thing that could happen to any student in any math class is to get stuck with a mediocre teacher for one or two semesters. Not all teachers can successfully teach what they know so well. Teaching is a natural gift that not all people possess. |

Rather...one of the most "careless" ways to screw up a test. |

mathman, why so serious?
In pre-calc, you have to use both radians and degrees on tests, and you have to know which problems use which. That sucks.

Not to go against what you're saying or anything, but a lot of times failure to change your calculator in that way will give you answers that make no sense at all.
Also, wait until you have classes that entirely use radians simultaneously with classes that entirely use degrees (i.e. Calc and Physics simultaneously), and have each professor get mad at you for even THINKING about using the other. |

And when it comes to test day, the pressure is high and sometimes you are just trying to scrape up answers.
But yea, I get what your saying... |
