I despise abstract math where you're supposed to picture circles and stuff (reason I didn't take calculus) instead of figuring stuff out like you learn for 10 years in math

Question 2:
If a boat is going across a river at 20 degrees from the normal, at 3m/s, with a 1m/s wind heading due West. What is the new angle and speed of the boat after wind resistance?

It's possible that I'm really over-thinking this problem, but I think it's a lot more complex than just using Newtonian Relativity. It wouldn't just change your velocity, it would force the boat into a parabolic arc. Since drag force changes as the relative velocity changes, you would actually need to use differential forces and integrate them across the distance of the river as well to solve this problem.
