Official Pre-Calculus Help Thread

Another question, I have to prove the theorem, "If p is odd and q is odd, then p+q is even."

I know how to end the proof, but I don't know how to begin it. I think I need some more logical definition stuff before I state the following:

let p= 2k+1 b/c p is an odd number
also, let q= 2k+1 since it is odd as well.

2k+1 + 2k+1 = 4k+2

by definition, any even number is divisible by 2

and 4k+2/2= 2(2k+1) so 4k+2 is an even number

therefore, any two odd numbers added together makes an even number

The class is basically preparing you for the critical thinking that will be needed in Calculus. This includes polar and rectangular coordinates, vectors, logarithmic equations, exponential functions, matrices, and many others.

Did you forget trigonometry, or am I missing something.

In my Pre-Calc class, the whole first semester was trig.

We have a whole section for a reason. We aren't limiting it to one thread.
