Official Pre-Calculus Help Thread

If anyone needs help with pre-calculus, I will gladly help. This does not mean I will just give the answer, but rather explain to the best of my knowledge how to get the answer. If I notice that many types of the same question are being asked, I will post a quick explanation in the front of this thread.

I have Pre-Calc this year. Anything I should know to get ahead? Like the basics of the class, what's easy/difficult.

Well, that can be answered in a very rough outline or a long, drawn out post. I'll take the rough outline approach.

The class is basically preparing you for the critical thinking that will be needed in Calculus. This includes polar and rectangular coordinates, vectors, logarithmic equations, exponential functions, matrices, and many others.

Will I be using the stuff I learned in Algebra 2 last year in this class? Or is it something completley different?

Most of the things you learned in Algebra 2 last year will be reintroduced and studied further. You may find that some things do not come back, and that there will be new ideas and concepts introduced.

hey, do you think you could direct me to some sort of "symbols and what they mean" list? I'm doing some basic proofs right now, and getting used to using the symbols should help me out a lot.
